Reggae star Mr. Vegas condemned violence while speaking at John Dewey High School in Gravesend.
As part of the "Dance Hall Against Gun Violence" event, Mr. Vegas, whose real name is Clifford Smith, made students pledge that they won't bully their peers, bring a gun or other weapon into school or use a gun to settle a personal problem or dispute.
He advised students to say something if they hear about anyone at school who may have a gun or is even thinking about bringing one into the building.
Students also pledged to use their influence over their friends to keep from using guns to settle disputes.
