The Plainview Old-Bethpage community hosted on Saturday its Relay for Life Walk to celebrate, remember and fight back against cancer.
There were special laps in honor of a Plainview teacher and a Plainview mother who died this year from cancer.
The event was also held in celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day.
"The main thing really is for all the community to come together and share in their stories, their struggles going through cancer. We lost many people in our community to cancer that were very important to us," said Relay for Life Volunteer Chair Jennifer Biren.
Relay for Life Walk also raises money in support of the American Cancer society.
