Rep. Lee Zeldin visits Bronx ahead of gubernatorial election
Rep. Lee Zeldin visited the Bronx ahead of the Gubernatorial election.
The event, coordinated by the Bronx Bangladeshi community, comes as the race tightens between Zeldin and Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Recent polls show Hochul only has a small lead over Zeldin, who hopes to become the first Republican governor in the state since 2006.
The congressman has been meeting with minority groups in the city in an effort to chip at Hochul's lead.
Zeldin’s recent focus has been on safety and crime. He says he will declare a crime emergency in New York if elected and will work to do away with cashless bail.
