Repairs underway at Bed-Stuy cafe after crash
Repairs are underway in Bed-Stuy a day after a police cadet allegedly sideswiped another car, sending it out of control into a cafe, where the collision injured four people, one critically.
The Department of Buildings arrived to the Nostrand Avenue business Thursday and assessed the damage. Tenants have been allowed to re-enter, but the building's gas lines remain shut off.
The building manager, Joon Chun, says that while the repairs may be a headache, the concern is really about the victims, one of whom suffered a collapsed lung and broken leg.
Sources say she is still in critical condition at the hospital but is expected to survive.
The cadet has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and illegal signaling.
