Volunteers were able to lend a helping hand Friday despite the stormy weather and miserable conditions.
They braved the elements at Lindy Park to rebuild a playground that was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy three years ago. Sea Gate and Coney Island were among the communities devastated by the storm.
Representatives from Disney and KaBOOM! were on hand to facilitate the process.
Despite the bad weather, the project was expected to be completed by the end of the day.
