A group of Carroll Gardens residents are calling on the MTA to restore the B71 bus line, which once ran through the neighborhood.
Officials ended the route about five years ago to save money.
Community groups and local lawmakers petitioned the MTA Tuesday in hopes of having the route resurrected. They even presented changes to the route that would streamline it to cut costs.
Senior citizens and families say it's hard to get to places like the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, the public library, schools and doctors.
The restored line would reconnect Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Gowanus, Carroll Gardens and the Columbia Street waterfront.
The MTA says it has no plans to restore the line because of historically low ridership. The nearest alternatives are the B65 and B61.
