A Sunset Park intersection is causing headaches for some residents, and now they're asking for a safety measure to be put into place.
A woman was injured while crossing 42nd Street and 9th Avenue Monday. The New York City Department of Transportation says there have been 10 injuries over a four-year period at that same location. In 2015, 59-year-old Marlena Zotti was killed while crossing that intersection.
Nearly every intersection on 9th Avenue has a stop light, expect for this one. Neighbors say putting one at this location would make a big difference.
There are two parks and a school located near the intersection.
A request was submitted last year, and a feasibility study is currently underway to put in an all-way stop sign.
