Several residents are headed to the State Court of Appeals in Albany Tuesday to fight for funding for Brooklyn schools -- something they say is long overdue.

The Campaign for Fiscal Equity will try to get the court to enforce a 2-year-old ruling. The ruling says the state must give city schools more than $4 billion in operating aid and more than $9 billion in capital funding. Parents say the condition of some Brooklyn schools is inexcusable.

The Campaign for Fiscal Equity began in 1993, when a lawsuit was filed alleging the state's funding system was unconstitutional and shortchanged city kids.
