Residents of 3rd Congressional District concerned as Rep.-elect Santos' office remains closed

Constituents in the 3rd Congressional District say they are concerned more than just Rep.-elect George Santos' deceiving resume after learning that the doors of his district office remain closed.
Although new members of the House of Representatives have not been seated yet - all of the other congressional district offices on Long Island are open and available to help the people they represent.
Nassau Legislator Josh Lafazan stood with a bipartisan group of people who live in Santos' district to ask where Santos' staff is and why the office is closed.
"He is uninterested in actually doing the job in which he lied to get," Lafazan said. "We are standing outside the office, not only has he not shown up or staffed the office, I don't even think he's been here."
Some residents say that after Santos admitted to his lies, they wouldn't want help from him even if his district office was open.
"We are calling on Congress and want to see a bipartisan ethic investigation on day 1 towards expulsion," said Jody Kass Finkel, of Great Neck.
A new group called Concerned Citizens of the 3rd Congressional District has circulated a petition calling for Santos to immediately resign.
News 12 has been reaching out to Santos for weeks but has not heard back.
