Residents have rejected a second proposal for development of park land in Sheepshead Bay.

Residents say city officials promised them a park would be built on the vacant land. However, they say the developer has different ideas for the area. Developer Podolny LLC first proposed building a parking garage on the lot. At a recent meeting Podolny presented a new plan to residents that includes a restaurant, parking lot and recreational area with a fishing pier.

Months ago, dozens of residents rallied against the parking garage proposal. Some say they are prepared to rally again against the new plan. Residents say they will rally until they get the park they were promised.
