A town hall meeting was held Wednesday in Brownsville to allow residents to voice their concerns about safety at a Brooklyn library.
A library in the Brownsville branch was recently closed after a librarian was injured breaking up a fight between girls. Elected officials, community leaders, police officials and library staff were at the meeting to answer security questions. Library officials say two employees have requested to be transferred from that branch.
Many residents say they disagree with the decision to close the library following the fight. Library officials say they temporarily shut down the facility out of concern for the staff and community.
