The NYPD and Crime Stoppers are offering a joint $12,000 reward for information leading to the person who murdered an elderly Bronx grandmother Saturday morning.
According to investigators, 88-year-old Evelyn Shapiro was found bludgeoned to death in her home at the Pelham Parkway Houses. They say she had been unloading groceries at the time of the attack.
Community members say Shapiro was an active and beloved member of the Sue Ginsburg Senior Center.
