The controversial Trump Links golf course in Throgs Neck was officially renamed on Thursday.
Local officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the renaming of the course as Bally's Golf Links at Ferry Point.
The public golf course has been open since 2015. Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson said this is much more than just a name change.
"This is a truly a reflection of how we move our community forward, how we ensure we invest in the Throgs Neck community, but also how we invest in jobs and economic development and stimulating the economy," Gibson said.
Bally's Golf Links chairman of the board Soo Kim said the goal is make this destination appealing to the community.
Mayor Eric Adams said he's looking forward to the future with this new investment in the borough.
"I think with the accumulation of our elected officials and the right partnership, you're going to see something great that comes out of this golf course," Adams said.
