A rally was held in Brooklyn Tuesday after a grand jury decided not to indict a Missouri police officer in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.
Members of the National Action Network held a "Hands Up for Justice" rally outside the federal courthouse in Downtown Brooklyn and discussed how to move forward following news that Officer Darren Wilson will walk free. The group was founded by the Rev. Al Sharpton.
The group is calling for nationwide protests to remain peaceful, which hasn't been the case in St. Louis County, where the police chief says at least a dozen businesses were set on fire. The group is also demanding that the federal government get involved.
The Brooklyn Bridge was temporarily shut down Monday night as hundreds of protesters crossed it while chanting "hands up, don't shoot."
NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer says elected officials, police and community members have a lot of work to do to bring the city together.
