Pearl Street Caviar in Brooklyn is changing the way people think about and enjoy the delicacy.
When visitors arrive at the unassuming courtyard entrance to what was once a warehouse in Red Hook, all they ask is that you keep an open mind. What lies behind the black doors is anything but ordinary.
So, what's the change? Caviar is the roe or eggs of a sturgeon, a species of fish that dates back to the Jurassic period. Pearl Street Caviar invites guests to learn and sample a tasting menu in its indoor-outdoor space.
Caviar at Pearl Street Caviar isn't designed to be eaten on a silver spoon or in a palace. Rather, it's for the masses to enjoy.
The shop is open for tastings Monday through Saturday. For those who can't make it in person to the shop, Pearl Street Caviar offers next-day delivery across the country.
