Robbery turns violent in Bedford Park as suspects flee

A pair of thieves are on the run after a violent robbery at a business in Bedford Park.

Police say the incident happened around 3 a.m. April 22 at a business on Villa Avenue. Two suspects entered the location, pulled out a gun, and the situation quickly escalated.

According to police, one suspect struck a 27‑year‑old employee in the head with the gun, while the other hit a 22‑year‑old employee in the head with a chair. The suspects stole both victims’ cellphones and took $250 from the cash register.

Police have released photos of the two suspects believed to be responsible for the robbery at 3128 Villa Ave.

NYPD data shows robberies in the area covered by the 52nd Precinct are up nearly 9% so far this year, with at least 124 reported cases. At this time last year, there were 113.
