Police say an inactive rocket launcher was discovered during a raid on a Bushwick apartment.
News 12 is told that the launcher was recovered along with guns and drugs at 846 Knickerbocker Ave. as part of an ongoing NYPD investigation.
Although considered a weapon of mass destruction, authorities say the inactive launcher could not have been used to fire missiles and did not pose a threat.
Police say they arrested 41-year-old Juan Garcia in the apartment at around 5:30 a.m. Friday after receiving a tip from the Bronx's 40th Precinct. Police say brass knuckles and a scale were also found.
Neighbors say the suspect, his wife and two children share the apartment. One of those neighbors, Darrell Fair, says he has made repairs in Garcia's apartment in the past and never noticed anything suspicious.
Witnesses say they also saw police search Garcia's truck, but they don't know what type of work he used the vehicle for.
Garcia has been charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a weapon.
