2ds agoA Rockland County couple has been sentenced for their role in a scheme to steal from a federal school subsidy program.
Peretz Klein and his wife, Susan, were among seven individuals who pleaded guilty to charges for defrauding a program paying for telecommunications services and equipment for schools that serve students of poor families.
Court records show that in June, Klein was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to pay back $1.4 million. Susan was sentenced to one year of supervised release.
