Hundreds of runners hit the pavement Saturday for the annual Bed-Stuy 5K.

Over 300 people participated in the 3rd annual event organized by the local group 500 Men Making a Difference.

The run took participants though the Brownstone blocks and historic streets of Bed-Stuy with the goal of a building a strong community and encouraging physical fitness.

The event ends at Von King Park with an award ceremony.
