It was a big weekend for a
Westchester native making it in the major leagues!
Eight years after he led Rye
to a Section-One baseball championship, George Kirby shined bright in Seattle!
The Mariners drafted him
three years ago, and he has said he felt unstoppable in the minor
leagues.
Kirby made his Major League debut yesterday for the Mariners and was almost
unstoppable again. The 24-year-old threw seven strikeouts and becoming the
first Mariner ever with six scoreless innings in his first
game.
To top it all off -- Seattle won in extra innings 2-1.
