Conversation Connecticut: April is Alcohol Awareness Month

The NYPD and city’s initiative for kids, Saturday Night Lights, is making its return.  

The PAL Center in Longwood is one of over 100 locations throughout the five boroughs that participates in the program. These locations offer free youth sports in an effort to bring cops and kids together and keep adolescents off the streets.  

In 2021, the NYPD partnered with the city’s five district attorneys, the Deparmtent of Youth and Community Development, and several other community-based organizations to add more gyms across the city to the program.  

Participating gyms will be open every Saturday throughout the remainder of 2023 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
