Sayreville residents protest plan to replace ball fields with transportation center

Sayreville residents held a protest Sunday against a plan to replace ball fields named for a war hero with a transportation center.
Sayreville Public Schools is looking to use a ballfield named in honor of Wayne Grant, who was killed in Vietnam, to build a hub for school buses.
The district says it would alleviate issues using outside companies has caused - like shortages and delays.
Bob Bouthilette, a Navy veteran, led the ruck march. He had coached on the field in the past.
The school district says it's looking at other locations to put this transportation hub. It’s expected to be a topic during a Town Council meeting Monday night.
