More security cameras are heading to several New York City Housing Authority developments in Brooklyn.
The mayor's office announced Tuesday that it will install or upgrade security at 29 NYCHA complexes, which include six in Brooklyn.
The New York City Council has also stepped up to support NYCHA, providing $17 million toward the effort.
NYCHA officials say they will be shortening the process for having cameras approved by tenants and the NYPD.
The security upgrades are expected to be in place by the end of the year.
