Sen. Richard Blumenthal is pushing to refund customers for energy overcharges.

The bill would rebate millions of dollars and help cut future natural gas costs.

The senator says gas companies regularly overcharge shipping, and utility companies and that those costs are then passed along to customers.

Blumenthal says this bill would fix a loophole that has forced customers to pay too much for too long.
