Some Brooklyn senior citizens are concerned about losing their senior center over a lease dispute between the city and the landlord.

News 12 was unable to reach the landlord at 966 Fulton St., but the chairman of the Fort Greene Citzens Council said he plans to advertise the building for rent. The dispute stems from the city deciding not to give the landlord a 10-year lease for both the senior center and day care center located inside the building.

Seniors who took the issue to the steps of City Hall Monday say they have been trying to recruit more people to join the center in an effort to increase funds to pay the lease. They plan to continue their fight to keep the senior center for years to come.

News 12 reached out to the mayor's office about the ongoing problem, but they have not yet commented.
