A new sensory-deprivation center has opened in Carroll Gardens.
Lift Next Level Floats is a spot where people can go to relax and float their troubles away. It opened barely a month ago and already has gained a steady stream of clients.
Within the space are five tanks large enough to allow a client to float, without touching the sides of the tank. Each tank is filled with 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt and 250 gallons of water, heated to skin temperature. Tanks are filtered between client use.
Client Dionisia Hatzis says she can feel all her stress melting away while suspended in one of the tanks.
Lift is currently open between 8:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. Its owners say they plan to be open 24 hours at some point.
