Family and friends said goodbye Monday to a teenager who was shot to death during last week's J'Ouvert celebration in Brooklyn.
A memorial service was held for 17-year-old Tyreke Borel at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church.
Police say Borel was the unintended target of a shooting during the festivities.
His family says their son was studying to be a car mechanic at the Boys and Girls High School in Bed-Stuy and recently returned home after visiting family in his native country of Trinidad.
Borel's body will be flown to Trinidad on Tuesday and laid to rest there.
His family is still trying to raise funds to cover funeral costs.
