A settlement has been reached in court between a Bushwick kosher food manufacturer and 20 former employees. Flaum Appetizing Corporation will pay $577,000 after the workers, most of whom are Mexican immigrants, filed a lawsuit in 2007 over poor working conditions. Some workers also say the company failed to pay them overtime.
More than 100 supermarkets boycotted Flaum products as a result of the controversy.
The company declined to comment on the settlement.
