Officials are investigating the cause of a crash involving a police vehicle that hospitalized several people Thursday.
According to officials, the vehicle was responding to a call when it collided with a Mercedes at Pitkin and Sheffield avenues in the East New York section of Brooklyn.
Witnesses say the police vehicle had lights on, but no sirens. The crash sent debris onto the street and mangled the Mercedes.At least three people, including two police officers, were hospitalized for head and neck injuries. Officials say several responding firefighters got blood in their eyes while pulling a victim to safety. Those firefighters were also taken to the hospital.
Police have not yet determined who is at fault in the wreck.
