The Food Bank for New York City held a mobile pantry Saturday for Ukrainian refugees who are in Brooklyn.
Advocates and community members at the Kings Bay YMCA in Sheepshead Bay provided aide for the families in need.
The organization distributed non-perishable items to ensure that the refugees that came out have what they need to survive.
The group said one of its current missions is to support communities at risk, like Ukrainian immigrants who recently arrived here in New York to escape the conflict overseas.
The group also aims to provide support to Ukrainian immigrants in need of food and other necessities.
Community advocates joined to provide English lessons and hand out clothes, toys and culturally relevant foods.
One organizer from Ukraine said that they need to help each other locally so that they can help each other out in Ukraine.
The Food Bank has also partnered with other organizations that secured legal, housing, social services and language assistance to further help the refugees.
