Sheepshead Bay resident calls out illegal parking and abandoned vehicles in his neighborhood

According to the 311 website, unless there's a sign posted saying otherwise, it is illegal to leave a vehicle parked in the same spot for more than seven days in a row.

Steven Moss, a longtime resident of Sheepshead Bay, is fed up with the blocked parking in his area.

“It’s so hard to park, and then these people are parking their vans and they don't live in the area, that’s not right,” said Moss.

His frustrations led him to post on the social media app Nextdoor, an app that allows users to connect with people in their neighborhood.

"I got a lot of feedback from people telling me what I should do, I did put it on 311. They closed out the ticket and they said that it was not needed that there was nothing that they could do," he says.

News 12 reached out to NYPD for clarification as to why they felt action was not needed but has not heard back.
