A Sheepshead Bay intermediate school is making a difference by sending supplies and letters to children in Zimbabwe.
Students at the Bay Academy for the Arts and Sciences collect supplies throughout the year and ship them to Africa. Items include textbooks, shoes, soccer uniforms and other things that would normally get trashed. The exchange is done through the U.S.-Africa Children's Fellowship program.
The Sheepshead Bay students also started corresponding to the children they're helping in Zimbabwe. Organizers say it's a beneficial arrangement for all involved.
