A major renovation is planned for the Shore Parkway Promenade, with improvements stretching from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to Caesar’s Bay.
The multimillion-dollar project, secured by Council Member Justin Brannan, aims to restore the crumbling seawall and upgrade pedestrian and bike paths impacted by years of coastal erosion and neglect.
The Fourth Avenue entrance will also see upgrades as part of the plan.
The project is currently in the design phase, which is expected to be completed by May 2025.
After that, the city will begin the procurement process, which typically takes nine to 12 months.
Construction is projected to last between 12 and 18 months, meaning the renovations may not be complete until 2027 or later.
