17ds agoOne out of every five Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70, according to data from the Skin Cancer Foundation.
The foundation says the two most common causes of the disease are exposure to UV rays and the use of tanning beds.
Doctors recommend preventing skin cancer by wearing sunscreen daily. They also say it is important to check the body for new moles and marks.
Actor Hugh Jackman, who had a cancerous growth removed from his nose in 2013, recently spoke out about the dangers of sun exposure.
"I've just had two biopsies done. I just went to my doctor, and she just saw the little things could be or could not be the basal cell. This is all stuff that happened 25 years ago. It's coming out now,” he said.
