Residents at 2070 Clinton Avenue tell News 12 that their heat has been going on and off all winter.
Queen McFarland, the resident leader in the building, says she and other residents of Twin Parks East say they're freezing and need space heaters in their homes. They're afraid to leave them on overnight for fire safety reasons.
McFarland says that the space heaters have also caused her Con Edison bill to jump up $300 per month - a price she can't afford. She says NYCHA came three weeks ago to put plastic on resident's windows in an effort to keep out the cold air.
