A Sound Beach woman has been sentenced in a forgery case.

Eleanor Blakley-Whaley will spend a year in jail after admitting to falsifying court records to avoid being kicked out of her home.

Police say she filed six court orders with the Suffolk sheriff’s office in 2022, saying her eviction was delayed.

The orders contained forged signatures of a Suffolk County judge.
