Officials have hinted at a possible breakthrough in a cold-case killing in Brooklyn.
Chanel Petro-Nixon was 16 years old when she was killed 10 years ago.
She went missing while heading out to drop off a job application at an Applebee's restaurant. Less than a week later, her body was discovered in a garbage bag. She was strangled.
The Brooklyn district attorney has called for a news conference in connection with the case at noon on Wednesday in Bed-Stuy.
Sources close to Petro-Nixon's family say new developments in the case should be expected.
