There are new details about a home attendant who was slashed inside of a senior living facility in Bushwick.

Police sources told News 12 that the suspect attacked his mother’s caretaker.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday inside a sixth-floor apartment at the Linden Grove Senior Residences, located at 223 Linden Street.

Police have not released their names - but sources said the 52-year-old victim was conducting a nurse visit when the 45-year-old attacker charged at her with a knife.

The suspect allegedly slashed the caretaker in the right arm, then threw her to the ground, causing pain to her head and knee.

Sources said the victim and suspect did not know each other, and it was an unprovoked attack.

The man then went to the roof of the 13-story apartment building and jumped to his death, according to police sources.

“It was like 100 cops here, through the building all day, standing in the street,” said Sandra, a neighbor who asked not to give her last name. “[Police] put the yellow tape. I’d never seen that in my life.”

“It was surprising,” said Miriam, who lives nearby but asked only to give her first name. “I’ve been here 20 years, and this is the first time that something like this ever happened.”

Police said the victim was taken to Wycoff Hospital and is stable.

“[The victim] had to come all the way downstairs [from the 6th floor] before she got help,” said Sandra.

“[The victim] was all full of blood,” said Miriam. “I felt sorry for the person. My hairs came up, my tears came out because it was a human being.”

News 12 reached out to building management for comment but has not heard back.
