Police say a 42-year-old man was stabbed in the backside twice in Bushwick on Wednesday.

Sources close to the investigation say it happened while he was shoveling snow.

News 12 spoke with the man's cousin, who wanted to remain anonymous, but says his cousin was paid by a woman to help dig out the snow when this happened.

“I was at the deli, and he came from outside telling me, 'Call the ambulance for me, someone stabbed me.' I went crazy I was shocked I got scared," he said.

Police say the incident happened before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday near Halsey Street and Wilson Avenue. The victim's cousin says he jumped into action.

“I put pressure on it. Some other customer helped me out. Too much blood, he lost a lot of blood," he said.

They say he was stabbed with an unknown object and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
