An East New York bookstore in business for several years is in danger of closing.
Located on Stanley Avenue, Diana Books Plus sells books written only by African-American authors.
Owner Diana Ricketts says it has been a struggle lately to pay the bills and keep the customers coming in. She is thousands of dollars in debt to her landlord and blames the economy for the lack of business.
Ricketts says for years she's given the community something special, and now she's asking for the same in return to keep the bookstore open.
"Things fall a little behind and right now I'm just trying to appeal to the community to help."
