Stamford baseball team asks for community to pitch in and help them make it to Babe Ruth World Series

A local baseball team made up of teenagers needs a little extra help to make it to the Babe Ruth World Series.
The Stamford Thunders 16-18 year-olds squad has qualified for the Babe Ruth World Series in Washington state, but the 11-day trip will cost tens of thousands of dollars.
“I kind of knew right after we won that regional, it felt really good for about five minutes then I was like ‘Wow, where are we going to get this money from? It's the first thing that hit me,” said team manager Jim Serafino.
The team says with the cost of just about everything, including airfares and hotel fees skyrocketing, they need assistance pitching in with the trip.
So far, a GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $15,000. If you would like to donate, click here.
