Stamford-based Americares is helping with flood relief efforts in Kentucky.
Americares U.S. Director of Emergency Response Mariel Fonteyn is leading the team that's on the ground in the towns of Hazard and Whitesburg.
Fonteyn says the team is assessing the needs of health clinics in the area to make sure they can still help residents who've evacuated and are staying in shelters or with family and friends.
Medical supplies will be shipped in the coming days once the team determines just how much is needed.
The team is expected to be in Kentucky for two-weeks.
