State officials: New speed cameras placed at active construction sites across New York

The first violation will cost speeders $50, the second will be $75 and the third will be a $100 fine.

More speed cameras have been set up across the New York state in construction zones as part of a new program to keep workers safe, according to state officials.
For the next 30 days, drivers caught speeding will get a warning in the mail. After that, expect to receive a ticket.
The first violation will cost speeders $50, the second will be $75 and the third will be a $100 fine.
State officials say there will be signs at the beginning of work zones alerting drivers about the cameras.
