A lawsuit has been filed against state Sen. Kevin Parker accusing him of raping a woman.

That claim is being brought by Olga Jean-Baptiste, officials say. Jean-Baptiste says Parker raped her in her apartment while they were working together to bring help to Haiti after serious flooding in 2004.

The Adult Survivors Act allows Jean-Baptiste to file the lawsuit. It was passed in 2022 giving alleged adult victims of sexual assault one year to file civil suits regardless of the statute of limitations. The deadline is on Thursday.

News 12 reached out to state Sen. Parker's office and is waiting to hear back.
