The grand jury in charge of deciding whether or not to indict a 15-year-old Brooklyn girl for murder has yet to come to a decision.
Peter Guadagnino, who represents 15-year-old Destiny Garcia, appeared in court Friday to ask a judge about the status of the indictment. Guadagnino was told that a decision would be coming soon.
Garcia is accused of killing her mother, 38-year-old Rosie Sanchez, and her mother's boyfriend, 40-year-old Anderson Nunez, in the Sheepshead Bay Houses at 2364 Batchelder St. Sunday night. Police say Garcia has confessed to the slayings. They say she told detectives that her mother was abusing her.
Garcia has been charged with second-degree murder. Guadagnino says if Garcia is indicted, they will enter a not-guilty plea.
