Stony Brook University jumps 16 spots on ‘Best Colleges for 2023’ list

It’s now No. 77 among national universities, up 16 spots from last year. It’s the highest ranking the publication has ever given the school.

Stony Brook University has made a big jump on the Best Colleges for 2023 list compiled by U.S. News & World Report.
It’s now No. 77 among national universities, up 16 spots from last year. It’s the highest ranking the publication has ever given the school.
Stony Brook is also ranked No. 31 among public universities.
“During the past few years, Stony Brook has endured a period of unparalleled challenges and seismic change. I am so proud of the way this university has adapted and continued to grow,” said Maurie McInnis, the university’s president in prepared remarks.
U.S. News & World Report reports on 1,450 public and private colleges and universities with U.S. bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on 17 measures of academic quality.
