Dozens
of firefighters responded to a scene in Hunts Point around 2 p.m. that
sent plumes of heavy smoke across the neighborhood.
Firefighters
on the scene confirmed that the fire at the scene was fueled by three
750-gallon containers of oil, diesel and kerosene – which explains the
foam that can be seen covering the aftermath of the fire.
There were no injuries reported from the scene of this fire, which was put under control
right before 4 p.m. Fire marshals are continuing to investigate to determine
the cause.
