Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Allan Nosoff says rain will be heavy at times during the Monday morning commute in New York City.
OVERNIGHT: On-and-off showers continue. The rain is expected to become widespread again by daybreak. Temps hover around 59. Staying breezy with 15-30+ mph gusts.
MONDAY: Rain, heavy at times during the morning. A narrow band of HEAVY RAIN will develop somewhere near the vicinity of NYC as Opehlia makes its closest approach. Models are split between placing that band on top of the city or just to the north. This will be a nowcast situation. Regardless, plan on some ponding and isolated flooding through midday. Then scattered showers again through much of the afternoon and early evening. Temps hover around 60-61. Breezy with 15-25 mph gusts. Showers taper off through the evening. An isolated shower or two can't be ruled out at night, otherwise dry. Lows down to 56.
TUESDAY: A cloudy start but some sunshine expected by the afternoon. Highs near 64. Lows drop to 55. Still some 15-20 mph gusts possible. WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY: Nicer. Partly cloudy and comfortable. Highs in the mid and upper 60s. Lows in the mid-50s.
