News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Allan Nosoff says New York City will see heavy rains with a possibility of flash flooding on Sunday.
OVERNIGHT - STORM WATCH: Cloudy and very humid. Rain arrives after 3 a.m. Lows down to 75.
SUNDAY - STORM WATCH: Rain, heavy at times. The best chance for heavy rain will be during the morning between 6 and 9 a.m. and in the afternoon, between 12 and 5 p.m. Some breaks in the rain are also expected, especially late morning and after p.m. There is a moderate risk of flooding for New York City. Scattered flash flooding possible. Exactly where that highest threat sets up is still to be determined. About 1 to 1.5 inches of rain is expected, with a potential for more if the bands set up over New York City. Temperatures hover around 80. Rain ends by sunset. Lows down to 75.
MONDAY: Sunny, hot and humid. Highs jump to 92. Lows near 73.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny with afternoon showers and storms likely with a better chance north and west. Highs around 88. Lows near 73.
WEDNESDAY: Sunny and dry with low humidity. Highs around 85. Lows near 71.
THUSDAY - FRIDAY: Partly cloudy and a bit humid. Highs near 85. Lows around 70. Late-day rain chance for Friday.
