324ds agoThe story of a rescue pup-turned-fire dog in the city of Newburgh has helped raise hundreds of dollars for the town’s animal shelter.
Assistant Fire Chief Tim Dexter wrote “The True Story of Nick The Fire Dog“ last year after Nick was found by firefighters abandoned and tied to a hydrant.
Dexter says $550 was raised to help dogs like Nick at the Town of Newburgh Animal Control and Shelter.
“It’s definitely a big help. It can go toward food and supplies for the animals they have. Mostly this money went to the dogs because of Nick the fire dog. Try to give it to them.”
"The True Story of Nick The Fire Dog” is available for sale on Amazon and a portion of the proceeds will continue to support the animal shelter.
